Notes from the Teacher
- Special Olympics Information-All students must have a completed Physical Form completed by a Physician in order to participate in Special Olympics. If your child does not have a physical on file they will not be able to participate. Basketball Skills Olympics will be held on 11/1/16 @ Green Road Community Center. Spring Olympics will be held @ Ravenscroft on 4/20/17. Physical form is enclosed.
- Please return all field trips permission forms and payment. If your child does not return his/her field trip permission forms they will not be able to participate.
- Report Cards, Progress Report, and Addendum Report will come home on 09/30/2016. The Report card grades are based on if your child was in the regular classroom without accommodations/modifications. The Progress reports are the goals and objectives that we as an IEP team agreed upon. The Addendum Report is the instructional level in which your child is being taught on.
1.3 Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure.
Reading Monthly Objective
1.1 Ask and answer questions about key details in text.
RI.1.2 Identify the main topic and retell key details of a text.
1.1 b. Build on others’ talk in conversations by responding to the comments of others through multiple exchanges.
1.1c. Participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners about Grade 1 topics and texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups. Ask questions to clear up any confusion about the topics and texts under discussion.
Reading Foundations Objectives
1.1a Recognize the distinguishing features of a sentence (first word, capitalization, ending punctuation)
1.2b Isolate and produce initial, medial vowel, and final sounds in spoken single-syllable words
1.3b Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words
Language Monthly Objectives
1.1.a Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. Print all upper and lowercase letters.
1.2 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing. Use end punctuation for sentences.
Math Monthly Objectives
1.01. Develop an understanding of the relationship between part-part-whole and the concept of equality.
1.01c Develop number sense for whole numbers from 0 through 10: Compare and order sets and numbers (more than, less than, same/equal)
Science Monthly Objectives
1. E.2 Understand the physical properties of Earth materials that make them useful in different ways.
1. E.2.1 Summarize the physical properties of Earth materials, including rocks, minerals, soils, and water that make them useful in different ways.
1. E.2.2 Compare the properties of soil samples from different places relating to their capacity to retain water, nourish, and support the growth of certain plants.
