K.RL.3 – With prompting and support, identify characters, settings, and major events in a story
K.RL.4 – With prompting and support, ask and answer questions about unknown words in a text
K.RFS.1c – Understand that words are separated by spaces in print
K.SL.3 – Ask and answer questions in order to seek help, get information, or clarify something that is not understood.
K.L.2b – Recognize and name end punctuation
K.W.1 - Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose opinion pieces in which they tell a reader the topic or the name of the book they are writing about and state an opinion or preference.
1.3b Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words
1.5 With Guidance and support from adults, focus on a topic, respond to questions and suggestions from peers, and add details to strengthen writing as needed.1.2d Use conventional spelling for words with common spelling patterns and for frequently occurring irregular words.

Classroom Information·
- Letter identification and sound production for all letters of the alphabet should be mastered by the end of this quarter! PLEASE support your child at home if he/she has not met this expectation. ·
- As the season continues to change and more winter items come to school, please make sure your child’s name is inside his/her coat, hat, mittens, etc. as these items have the tendency to be misplaced. ·
- As the germs begin to multiply, please be sure to review the school health policy! Positive transitions into the day are extremely important.
- Homework is a daily expectation. Please support your child’s learning at home by completing homework nightly
