Reading Objectives
Key Ideas and Details: RI1.2 Identify the main topic and retell key details of a text.
Integration of Knowledge and Ideas: RL 1. 7-Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters
Foundational Skills : RF 1.2d Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). Segment spoken single-syllable words into their complete sequence of individual sounds (phonemes).
RF1.3a Know the spelling-sound correspondences for common consonant digraphs.
Speaking and Listening : SL1.1a Participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners about grade 1 topics and texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups. Follow agreed-upon rules for discussions (e.g., listening to others with care, speaking one at a time about the topics and texts under discussion).
Writing Objectives
1.3 Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure.
L1.1a Print all upper and lowercase letters.
L1.2 b Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing. Use end punctuation for sentences.
L1.2e Spell untaught words phonetically, drawing on phonemic awareness and spelling conventions.
Math Objectives
Count to 100 by ones and tens · Count to answer “how many?”questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line · Identify whether the numbers of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of or equal to the number of objects in another group e.g. by using matching and counting strategies include groups with up to 10 objects.
Science Objectives
1.E.2 Understand the physical properties of Earth materials that make them useful in different ways.
1.E.2.1 Summarize the physical properties of Earth materials, including rocks, minerals, soils, and water that make them useful in different ways.
1.E.2.2 Compare the properties of soil samples from different places relating to their capacity to retain water, nourish, and support the growth of certain plants.
