General Information
· Our class is filling up quickly. We will have another new student joining our class this week.
· I will be out of the classroom for three days this week from September 20th thru September 22nd. Please remind your son/daughter about classroom rules and expectations.
· If you have not returned your child’s field trip permission forms please return them by Friday, September 23, 2016. We have an in school field on September 28th, 2016 at a cost of $7.50 per child. If the permission form is not returned along with the fee your son/daughter will not be able to participate.
· If you would like for your son/daughter to participate in Special Olympics Basketball Skills on December 1, 2016 @ Green Road Community Center you will need to have completed the required paperwork that was sent home with your child some weeks ago. If you did not receive or have lost the papers please let us know. All physicals need to be completed by a physician and returned to me by Friday, September 30, 2016 so that I can forward them to the appropriate person. If you are not able to complete the physical form, but would like for your son/daughter to go on the field trip anyway you will need to complete the field trip permission form.
Weekly Objectives
Language: Students will emphasize on words that all start with the letter “Ff”.
(2) Students will distinguish initial, medial and final sounds in a spoken word.
(3) Students will decode words by using common spelling patterns. (4) Students will know and apply grade level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. (5) Students will be able to produce the sounds of the short and long vowels in isolation.
Reading: Students will retell stories including key details and demonstrate an understanding of their central message. (2) Students will use illustrations and details in a text to describe its characters.
Writing: Students will demonstrate command of the conventions of Standard English capitalization, punctuation, spelling when writing. (2) Students will apply conventions to language to communicate. (3) Students will write three sentences about their favorite book.
Math: Students will develop number sense for whole numbers from 0-50 using 1:1 correspondence and other counting strategies. (2) Given a request by the teacher the students will draw the correct number of objects requested by the teacher. (3) Given a request by the teacher, the students will orally count to 50 in sequential order.
Spelling Words : run bug bugs hug hugs but ducks two helps duck cups cubs up
