Classroom Behavior Plan
It is never too early to learn the importance of making responsible and respectable choices in school and in life. So, we will start on day one! I believe that in order for students to succeed in any classroom environment, they must first feel safe, respected, and valued. So, building our classroom community is extremely important to me.
One way we build our classroom community is by allowing the students to help create the classroom rules, consequences, and procedures. By doing this, students have more ownership and they will more likely respect the rules and follow our procedures.
Our Classroom Rules
Please check your child’s M.O.O.S.E.. Notebook for a behavior log. Your child should color his/her behavior each day. If your child is below green (yellow, orange, or red), I will do my best to make sure there is a note to let you know what happened. In order to speed up this process, I have included a key. This key includes the most common misbehaviors. If your child did one of these things, I will simply write the corresponding numeral in the comments column in order to save time. I will write a short note to let you know about the behavior, if it is necessary. Please initial the chart each day and feel free to make comments as necessary. It is important that we work together to help your child succeed in school. Please review the daily behavior chart with your child. Talk to your child each day and help him or her understand appropriate and inappropriate choices. Let your child see that we work as a team and support each other.
Any notes you need to send me can be attached/stapled to the daily behavior lot. Part of your child’s morning routine is to take out his or her M.O.O.S.E. Notebook, which contains the daily behavior log and put it in a basket. Attaching a note to the Daily behavior log helps ensure that the note does not end up crumpled and forgotten in the bottom of a book bag. Thank you for your continued support and help in this matter!
